February 2022 Book Haul!

Quality over quantity was the name of the game for this book haul, but awesome finds!

So it was the end of month, which meant it was time for a book haul! This month was a bit smaller than our usual, because we have to many TBR’s we are currently working on. I (Flip) have been working on two books at a time just to try to keep up with Jess’ ferocious pace of 150 pages a day. We went out on Sunday for a dedicated book haul to cash in on our Christmas Barnes and Noble gift cards, yes it’s no secret that both of us are book nerds, and hit half price books for some good deals.

We found some great new books and some oldies that we’ve been dying to read. I found hardcovers of both the The Black Dahlia and The Six Cold Thousand by James Ellroy at Half Price Books. What a find! I am currently reading American Tabloid by James Ellroy and The Six Cold Thousand is the next in the series. Super stoked about this find.

We also found a limited edition Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (author of Ninth House). It is beautiful! You can see it in its jacket in the picture, but check out the gallery for other pictures of this gorgeous edition.

Of course we had to pick up a booktok special so we got Verity by Colleen Hoover. This book has received all types of feedback from good, to bad, and everything in between. We’ll see if it lives up to the hype. Definitely excited to dive into this one.

Lastly, I picked up The Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. I actually listened to this book via audiobook. Y.A. is usually not my bag, but this book was getting a lot of love, so I had to check it out. The historical fiction aspect of this book gives it a different flavor. Mix that with a monster that makes you rip your throat out from madness... you got a hit.

Jess found Murder at Mallowan Hall by Colleen Cambridge. This was a browsing find at Barnes and Noble. Both Jess and I are super excited to read this Clue inspired mystery.

Not our usual, out of budget, ten book minimum, but in this case, its quality over quantity.
