First Year as a Book Blogger

2022 was a huge year of changes. Some good, some bad, some indifferent. We got new jobs, we left new jobs, we got new new jobs. We moved. We traveled. We partied, we stayed in. We had extra money, we dipped into savings. We loved, we lost. We dreamed, we ruminated.

A good book has stayed a constant. No matter what is happening, a couple hours with a good book can always take you out of your head and erase the world around you. This is what we loved about blogging the most. Being able to share our thoughts with all of our readers, giving them the truest reviews for them to pick their great escape… even if it is only for thirty minutes before bed.

Reading a book, knowing you are going to share the details and nuances creates a different experience. You read it with a different intention.

Also, being able to share life experiences has been more enjoyable than expected. We aren’t ones for documenting everything behind a camera, or letting everyone into our personal lives, but this blog allowed us to curate our thoughts, evaluate major life events, and share them for others to take what they will from them.

On a more logistical note we learned many things like the importance of being present on social media, learning new programs like canva, creating a schedule, keeping to a timeline, not letting the magic die, SEO keywords, toilet paper words of the day, staying organized using a journal, taking more pictures to capture memories to share, and remembering to live life, because only that will create great literature that people will truly want to read.

Bukowski once said, “Stop insisting on clearing your head—clear your fucking heart instead”. Literary Entropy has allowed us to do just that.
